Christmas - the business opportunity

6 Easy ways to make money from the Christmas rush

I’m not really all that keen on bringing this up in September. But if I didn’t you could miss out on some great opportunities. So here goes!

Like it or not, Christmas is one of the biggest money making opportunities of the year, if not the biggest – in fact, many businesses make most of their profit over Christmas.

So, here’s not one but six simple ideas for how you can make money this Christmas…

1. Sell Christmas gifts on eBay

This is so easy almost anyone can do it! Do some research into the predicted top 10 (or 20) Christmas gifts this year - then source some stock ASAP; before all other sellers get around to it. You’ll then be in pole position to add Christmas-related listings as the festive season approaches.

Here’s a special report for you on which toys are likely to be trending this year: What Will Christmas 2012’s Top Selling Products Be?

2. Set up your own Christmas website or blog

During the autumn the Internet search traffic from consumers looking to find Christmas gift/present/food/decoration/party ideas and so on soars into the billions. You could tap into all this by setting up your own blog or website. (You could even do a Pinterest or Instagram page if you’re interested in the newest social media tools.) Post up some Christmas tips, news, recipes, makes, product reviews and so on.

Next, how to monetise your Christmas website? It’s simple. You don’t need any stock. Just use affiliate schemes that will pay you a commission every time your visitors buy a product or click a link. For example, Amazon’s affiliate scheme would be ideal for this.

3. Make and sell Christmas cards and decorations

Come the autumn the shops will be packed with cards and decorations. But there’s a lot of the same-old-made-in-China stuff. There are plenty of buyers out there who are looking for something different... and handmade cards and decorations are perfect to supply this niche demand.

There are lots of free ‘how to’s’ for cards and decorations out there on the Internet.

Here’s another useful article on making cash from crafts at Christmas and all other times of the year too.

4. Christmas decorating service

Everybody likes their home/shop/office/restaurant/pub to look festive at Christmas. But many people don’t have the time or inclination to do it. If you do, how about setting up a Christmas decorating service handling all the trees, baubles, lights and garlands for your customers?

Tip: To make the best profits from this service aim it at commercial premises and big houses in affluent areas, where you can charge thousands of pounds a time. Here’s a service that does just this, to show you how it works: The Christmas Decorators.

5. Gift wrapping service

Gift wrapping is another thing that lots of people don’t like doing, or don’t have the time to do. But let’s face it, it’s not really difficult. If you don’t mind wrapping gifts you could easily offer this service.

You could either run this service from home. Or, rent a stall in a busy shopping mall.

Tip: Use good quality wrap, bows, tags and so on and buy them from a wholesale source to keep your costs to a minimum.

6. Crafts and gift fairs

Car booting is pretty much done come the end of the summer. But that’s when crafts and gifts fairs get more popular. They’re indoors, and the best ones attract thousands of shoppers keen to find original and unique gifts.

Get your stalls booked as early as possible. Then spend some time scouring the Internet for the latest craft and gift ideas and sources of stock. Or, like I said, if you’re crafty you can also make your own handicrafts to sell.

This is a great resource!

If you’re looking for ideas for new and exciting products to sell, actual sources of them, and great advice on buying-selling for profit then I strongly recommend you take a look at Amanda O’Brien’s brand new The Source Report membership website, just launched.

How to make money organising parties

This could be an ideal little biz opp not just for Christmas, but all year round!

If you’d like a business that’s fun to run and profitable – and which you can run part time from home – then you might look at becoming a party organiser.

Here are some tips on setting up your own professional party organising service.

Creating Killer PLR

Most PLR packages come with readymade e-books at your disposal. These e-books usually come with e-book covers, source files for editing (usually word documents) and sometimes sales letters or opt-in pages.

You can use these PLR books as free gifts for your opt-in page to build your subscriber list. But it is advised to edit the contents to add in your personal style and flair to make the e-book even more interesting. Good e-books have the tendency to be recommended to other peeps so it's good to focus on further building the quality of the e-books.

Here are a few ideas on creating killer e-books using PLR:

- Add interesting pictures, diagrams, and charts to exemplify the ideas in the book

- Add more relevant points to existing ideas or add new ideas to bulk up the e-book

- Combine 3 e-books to make a massive complete guide

- Transcribe audio mp3 or video PLR content into e-books

- Put in referral links to affiliate products, blog posts or related content.

- Finish the e-book with a link to a related paid product as a special bonus for owners of the
e-book

- Give resell rights or giveaway rights to the e-book

These ideas will help your e-books to not only engage and intrigue you readers, but also to give them a call to action to perform the next step, whether if it is to share the e-book or to buy something.

PLR e-books can be used for many purposes in one's business. It could be broken down into individual articles to be used in websites or as blog posts. The articles can also be submitted to article submission directories to draw free traffic to your website.

The content in the PLR e-book can also be consumed by the marketer himself to gain new knowledge and insights into the niche they are targeting. This new gained knowledge can then be used in different forms to build credibility and trust as an expert in the field.

PLR e-books can also be used as free gifts to build subscriber lists. The content can also be uploaded into the marketer's email autoresponder as an e-course for his followers. There powerful techniques establish credibility for the marketer and he can then follow up with some paid products (which can also be made with PLR).

The borders of PLR e-books are limitless. It is your job as a marketer to tap into these powers
to create and endless stream of bounty.

In the next lesson we'll take a look at how you can create audio from written words, even if you don't want to record your voice and read aloud!

Stay tuned!

Article Marketing

You have probably heard people say that article marketing is dead. People, who claim that, have never used article marketing the right way, you see. They have been doing "article directory marketing", which is sending lots of traffic to the article directories, instead of to their own site or blog.

So forget about the Google Panda scare.

Here's how you can generate traffic using article marketing:

1: Write longer articles - aim at 600 - 1200 words.

2: Give it your best - fill the article with valuable content.

If you struggle with writing 400 words in an article at this point, you might ask:

"How in the world will I ever arrive at 600 words? Or more?"

Crazy, right?

You'll be surprised how easy it is, though, when
you start out with a different aim - giving the
best quality, you can.

If your goal was to produce articles, which would make your readers click at the link in your resource box and buy the product, you were promoting, yes, then it's hard to write small 400 word articles.

With a different point of view, you'll be amazed to find yourself plotting out long, content rich articles in no time.

At this moment, you might be wondering:

"Why? Why should I write longer articles and give away valuable content?"

To understand the answer, you have to go back to the basic definition of an article directory.

Article directories are here - not just to show your article and make money themselves through
ads - but to be a middleman between writers and ezine owners.

In other words: Your goal with your articles should be to get them syndicated.

If ONE big list owner picks up your article, you can look forward to thousands of incoming readers.

Believe me, this is much better than earning a click now and then, directly from the article directory.

The really successful article marketers all agree on this one:

The best way to generate traffic using article marketing is to write with the sole goal of getting your article picked up and syndicated.

Lessons from the Master

"How do I get traffic to my website so that people will buy my product?"

So let's say you have a set of DVD's about making money online from affiliate marketing which sells for £47.00.

You set up a simple website with a Buy Now PayPal button, and start your marketing.

Now, the route most people take is to do some keyword research, build up a list of keywords, open a campaign with Google PPC and start to bid on the keywords.

First problem you'll have is that you'll find that keywords in the "make money online" niche cost between 50p and £2.50.

Let's suppose you decide to bid £1.00 per click.

You let your campaign run for a day or so until you've spent £200.00 and received 200 clicks.

From this, you've received 2 orders - a 1% response rate.

So you've taken £94.00, but spent £200.00 on advertising and £10.00 on fulfilment.

Not very good business.

So what would I do?

I would write an A4 teaser letter that describes the benefits of the DVD's and includes the address for the website.

Get 1,000 teaser letters printed in a single colour for £75.00.

Rent a list of proven buyers for £100.00

Buy 1,000 DL envelopes - £25.00

Mail the 1,000 letters - £270.00 (although I pay £240.00 as I have an account with Royal Mail)

My total costs = £440.00

And from this mailing I also receive a 1% response rate = 10 orders.

So, I would not make any money from this mailing, however, I've added 10 actual buyers to my list instead of 2 that I would receive from online PPC marketing.

Now, because I've proven that this method works, I would then mail 5,000 items.

My costs would be as follows:

Printing - £250.00

Envelopes - £120.00

List rental - £500.00

Postage - £1,200

My total costs = £2,070.00

1% orders = 50 x £47.00 = £2,350.00

Now, from this 2nd mailing I'm in profit ... however more importantly I've added a further 50 buyers to my list.

I'll do the 5,000 mailing again, and build up a list of 110 actual buyers.

Then I would mail them details of my back end product which costs £197.00.

From those 110 buyers, 7 order, netting me £985.00.

My marketing costs to just 110 people was a measly £100.00.

Now, is this all starting to make sense?

Imagine you had 10 different front end products all attracting a 1% response rate, and you had 5 different back end products.

Can you see how this is now becoming more interesting?

Tapping into the power of video

With the boom of video sharing sites such as Youtube and easy video editing programs, it seems foolish not to tap into this new marketing source. Videos have taken the internet marketing world by storm and now you can too dominate your respective niches with the PLR's help.

This chapter will look at how we can use PLR to create videos which will greatly boost profits
and bring your business to the next level.

Make Your Own Presentation Videos

An interesting tool to turn presentations into videos is Camtasia. This tool allows you to take screen captures of your presentations and turn them into videos. You can then edit the videos using Camtasia's in-house editing tools. When used together with Microsoft Powerpoint, you can turn PLR content into exciting video courses and
give them to your subscribers or charge them a premium price for it.

The Power Of Video Sharing

Video sharing sites such as Youtube and Dailymotion have millions and millions of views everyday. By posting your PLR-made home videos, you can tap into this large pool of prospects and grow your business exponentially. Always remember to add a link to your blog or website under the video's description so viewers can proceed to
your blog for more information.

Video Courses Are More Valuable

Instead of the usual article series, why not try a video series? A video course pertaining to your niche has a higher perceived value and you can charge your subscribers a premium price for access to the course. To take things up a notch, you can consider putting the videos in a membership site and charge members a monthly fee
for periodical new videos.

Videos Are Way More Exciting

Let's face it, there's a couch potato in everyone one of us. Have you ever been guilty of Youtube hopping for hours at ago? I don't blame ya. It's all down to human psychology. We are attracted to visuals and sound elements way more than textbooks. Turn your PLR books into exciting videos and reap the rewards!

You don't have to be a professional videographer to make high converting products. The truth is, content is king. Get your prospects' attention and you're all set! So let's tap into the power of videos immediately and make tons of profit out of it!

Yahoo Answers

If you spend any time whatsoever searching through Google or other search engines, you have probably come across a website known as Yahoo answers?

Yahoo answers is a great site where users can post questions on just about any topic imaginable, and then other registered users will respond with their best answers.

As we said, the topics are many and varied, and they include everything from sports to health and fitness to topics about celebrities. The user who posted the original question can select the best answer from the bunch, and this answer will be highlighted on that webpage.

Users can earn points by answering other people's questions, and believe it or not some people really get into this by accumulating thousands of points over time!

How exactly can you use this for traffic? Well, one simple method is to include a reference or source at the bottom of your answer (in other words, a link to your website).

Not every post on Yahoo answers has this kind of link, but many people do include a link to Wikipedia or other websites that have additional information on the topic. All you have to do is include a simple link that will lead people to a webpage of yours that contains additional information on this specific topic, but you do have to follow some guidelines and be careful. The members of this website can get angry and report you if they believe that
you're simply spamming the website for inbound links and sales messages.

If you're going to use Yahoo Answers to generate traffic, we recommend spending a little bit of time each day and slowly build your content.

You should answer a variety of questions and also post questions of your own that don't include any
links to your website. You can also occasionally link to other websites like Wikipedia.

You will, of course, link to your own website as well, but you want to be careful to make things
look more natural.

Above all, be sure to provide useful answers in your posts instead of just providing a link to your website.

The money is in the list!

The money is in the list! This fact holds true from the early days of internet marketing till today. Without your list, its very difficult to reach your subscribers attention and profit from them. So how do we provide tons of useful content to our subscribers? The answer is right in front of you - Use the PLR!

To start out, you can break down PLR e-books into individual articles. From there, you can use those articles as daily nuggets of useful information for your subscribers. The more useful content you provide, the more they will love you and listen to you. That's the basis of building a genuine relationship with your list!

Now that you have given them a lot of good stuff and sort of established yourself as a guru in your niche, it is time to market your own products. The key is to market to them a product similar to the free content that you have
provided them over the weeks. Thank God we have more PLR products to satisfy our hungry customers!

Besides just sending them daily emails, you can also email them and give them access to your PLR books - direct downloads, access to a membership site with your PLR content or a contest page for a prize (hint: make one using PLR), the choice is entirely yours! Here are some of my favorite ideas for using PLR to market to your subscribers through email.

- Load the autoresponder with an educational course made with PLR

- Survey them and give a random prize (PLR e-book) to one lucky respondent

- Hold competitions through emails and reward subscribers with the best responses!

- Last but not least, sell them products (e-books, audio and videos) made with PLR ;)

The possibilities are endless once you got your hands on a healthy source of PLR content. Keep
providing them good stuff, and good stuff will come your way!
